For more than 17 (seventeen) years Hilmae Bodden worked in the legal and financial services prior to being called to the Cayman Islands Bar.


Hilmae was appointed as the first Policy Analyst to the Cabinet Office and worked with the government for 7 (seven) years. In that role she was responsible for providing independent policy advice to the Cabinet and Premier of the Cayman Islands, on how the government's vision and strategic objectives could be translated into effective long term policies and actions, including any new or alternative interventions that would be required for success.


As a Policy Analyst, Hilmae carried out research and authored various government policies. She made significant contributions to and co-authored the National Disability Policy. Her experience includes secondments with the Constitutional Review Secretariat and as Secretary to the Immigration Appeals Tribunal.


In addition to being a Director on several companies Hilmae Bodden is also a Notary Public in the Cayman Islands.
